Message from Mayor Dougherty

With spring right around the corner, Morristown is preparing for a busy year of community events, including the Morris County St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Held right here in Morristown, it is one of the largest and oldest in the country! Led by 2017 Grand Marshal T. Michael Quinn, the parade will feature over 100 different groups, bands, and organizations. Be sure to come out, bring your family and friends and enjoy the day on Saturday, March 11.

Recently, I had the opportunity to sit down with a group of local clergy and faith-based leaders to discuss the topic of immigration here in Morristown. We exchanged views on challenges facing the immigrant community and resolved to create a series of forums where residents can have a voice in creating strategies and policies that reflect the views and values of Morristown. I strongly believe that all of our residents deserve a secure environment to raise their families, go to work, and to contribute to society without fear. Now more than ever, it’s important for the town to work together with community leaders and residents to shape our future.
